PILOCAR EYE DROPS
Pilocar eye drops treat some types of glaucoma. It decreases the size of the eye pupil and begins miosis through iris contraction and pupillary sphincter muscles. This lowers the eyeball pressure by generating aqueous humor. It helps decrease the high pressure developed in the eyes.
You should communicate with your doctor before using this eye drop. Your eye specialist would check your eyes regularly throughout the treatment with pilocarpine mainly when you have a disorder.
If you are using contact lenses, make sure you remove them before putting on these eye drops. This eye drop is for external use and shouldn’t be swallowed.
During this eye drop, make sure you do not drink alcohol. Make sure you do not use this eye drop if you are suffering from any other eye condition/disorder without consulting your eye specialist.
If you are pregnant or breastfeeding do not use this eye drop without asking your doctor. Patients with lung or heart disease should use this medicine with caution. Also, this eye drop should be used with caution and after the doctor’s advice in children under 18 years.
How to use pilocar eye drops?
Before application of this eye drop, wash your hands properly. To prevent contamination, make sure you avoid touching the dropper on any other surface. Do not let the dropper come in contact with the eyes to avoid contamination.
Those using contact lenses should remove them before putting on the eye drops. After putting on the eye drops, wait for fifteen minutes and then wear the contact lenses again.
If you find an excess solution around the eyes, use a tissue to wipe it. Wash your hands so that the medicine gets washed away. Make sure you do not wash the dropper. After each use replaces the dropper cap.

Storage Instructions
Pilocar eye drops should be stored at 25°C. Store the eye drops at room temperature. Do not store it in a moist place. Avoid storing the eye drops in a place where it is exposed to heat.
Check the directions given on the label to know the correct way of storage. You can learn storage instructions from the chemist also. Avoid keeping the eye drops bottle in the freezer. Restrict the pets and children from accessing this eye drop.

If you miss a dose, take it once you realize it. If the next dose is already due, skip the missed dose. Avoid taking double doses to cover up for the missed dose.
If you are applying any other eye drops, then wait for at least five minutes before putting the other eye drop. Make sure you put eye drops before using ointments so that the eye drop reaches directly into the eye.
